Historic village of Faucon (pop. 380), the name means "peregrine"; a favorite spot of vacationers and second home owners. It is in that small western part of Les Baronnies, which today belongs to the Vaucluse, a department of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region. Remnants of the old ramparts and lots of nice village houses on Rue du Portailand, Rue de la Pusterle and Place des Tilleuls. Why is it so popular? It is has a very well preserved medieval architecture, it's peaceful and has one of the best views to Mt.Ventoux. There is not a lot of infrastructure here, but you are quite close to Vaison la Romaine. During the summer there is a Provençal market every Wednesday and Saturday. |
Faucon: Paradise in a three bedroom Provencal home
This is a treasure of a house. I just couldn't believe what I saw whe I arrived. I was in awe. The owners know French flair and clearly understand provencal living. This little village house is just steps away from the village restaurant and boulangerie. But who needs to go out when you can sit on your terrace and bask in the beauty and views available from your terrace sipping local Cote du Rhone from one of the vineyards you've strolled to.
Step into Provencal living in this 3 bedroom, 2 bath village house.
It's nestled in the quiet little village of Faucon. Serene and sophisticated. Views to die to be around. Vineyards and real people. What more could you want. Bring the family, there is room for 6 in this sweet 3 bedroom village house. Be there in the fall and join in on the festivities for the regional soup and desert festival.
Our dear friends, spent a week honeymooning in this village and count the moments to return. I suspect next March, their little hideaway will be booked.

"I discovered Faucon when I was invited by my dear friend from Australia Mary Ann Hill. After communicating with her for months, we met at the soup contest in Faucon in October. Coincidentally, we also met the owners of this property at the same festivity, the following year. What event, what a great house...what really nice people in Faucon to share our love France. Carol
